Hey, all! This is the first update SD's had for quite some time; with the recent spike in site activity, it seemed necessary! The biggest news lately, I suppose, is the Forum Overhaul; in short, our forum layout has been condensed into five general categories in hopes of concentrating site activity to keep things interesting. More might be added once activity picks up some more, but this should do for a while, I think. Props to The Grenadier, by the way, for the original idea! An update was sent out via email to all the board's members; if you didn't get it, it's because either your SD account is set to block email from admins, or your email address is out of date. If you need help correcting either of these issues, send me a message. =) Additionally, I've set up an ad campaign on Facebook that should bring us a bit more traffic. I'm looking into getting an advertisement placed in the newspaper here in E-Town, too.  We're in need of new images for the site; the old ones are getting a little stale. This includes not only the banners for the various skins, but also the pictures used for different groups/ranks of members. If you have any sort of artistic ability and are interested in helping out, check out this thread! I've set up a board archive, and in this The Grenadier and I have placed all of the old topics on the site-- that is, pretty much everything that hasn't been replied to since May/June 2009 or earlier. The topics are still on file so if anyone wants one retrieved, message a staff member. This was done mainly to clean up the forums a bit so we don't have old topics floating around everywhere. Oh, and I'm going to try to get these updates going again; posting them once in a blue moon really doesn't seem sufficient.  I'll post them whenever there's something news-worthy on the site, but if anybody's interested in writing all or part of a future update, shoot me a PM or email spartandominion@gmail.com. I know a lot of our members have more journalistic skill than I do.  That's about it for now. Until next time. . . |

Glad to hear that you are upping the advertisement. It's great to see this place kicking again. It's still lacking some old-time regulars, but hopefully we can attract some newcomers. Like the new(ish) site. The consolidated forums is great. I remember there was a forum that hadn't been posted in in nearly 2 years. |
