How is everybody's going so far? What classes do you have?

I'm taking philosophy, english, and a math course. It's pretty nice because I've only got 1 - 2 classes a day, but I also sort of miss the familiarity of high school.

I'm a Junior this year and quite frankly I'm falling apart. I had a steady 4.5 GPA for my first two years of high school. Right now, I'm failing two classes and have a C in another. Junior year at my school blows. The worst part is, I don't even really care about it. I'm not sure if that's good or bad.

Taking Astronomy, AP English Language (have a C), Computer Programming and Engineering, AP US History, Honors Precalculus (failing), Biology, and Drawing (failing).

Sure we just started a few weeks ago, but damn. I don't understand anything in Precal. I mean... that stuff just goes right over my head. I'm gonna have to buy a help book or something. Drawing is bad because he's only put one grade in. Doing bad in AP English because the teacher is psyco and I suck at MLA heading crap.
So what, I'm a Star Wars geek?!?

I havent started school yet, but I dunno, transitioning from high school to university could be a bit overwhelming.

I'm a senior in high school this year, and I ain't really loving it too much thus far. It's not that bad, I guess, especially since I get two off periods and get home early, but other than that it's just another school year.

The worst part about it is that only two of my friends have the same lunch period as me, but since seniors can go off campus for lunch it's not so bad.

I'm a senior in college this year... graduating in December, so pretty soon!

I'm a bit overwhelmed. Since I'm in the art department I have to do a huge senior project. It's basically independent study and I have to write my own syllabus and come up with my own unique project that will take a whole semester to do (it's a 4000 level class too, so LOTS of work). I'm kind of stressed.

I'm also taking two upper division art history classes: 19th Century and Northern Renaissance. They are interesting, but hard core. I'm kind of worried about those also.

And then I'm in a singing group and we perform and travel a lot. So that takes up a lot of my time.

Plus I have two jobs.

AHHH!

I'm just so excited to be done. Only 3 months!

Heh, you have to take the good with the bad. I know some people enjoy university, but for me it's just suffering for a while so you can make money later. :P

More words of wisdom from our respectable administrator :P

I'm starting college as a freshman this year, and I like it so much more than high school. No tardy passes, teachers don't care how many days of class you miss, you pick your own schedule, and NO MORE DRAMA! Finally...

I'm taking it pretty easy this year, as I'm trying to improve my GPA so that I can go to GA Tech for Engineering. Contrary to my ninth-grade belief system, slacking off hasn't done very much for me. As such, I'm currently taking core classes at a community college down the road from my house. Right now, I'm taking English, Intro to Psych (not exactly required for an Engineering major, I know :P), Chemistry 1201K (of which I have come to learn can actually cause me physical harm), and Calculus I (which I have a 100 in, since I finished AP Calculus BC in my senior year of high school with an A). So it's more or less a laid back year for me

And Jana, you seem to have quite the course load. I might actually go crazy trying to make a transition like that. Suddenly having so much free time after having such a demanding schedule must nearly make you go crazy

I'm going to try and take as many AP classes as I can to try and cram a ton of foreign language/history into my Engineering major in college. That is, if I even want to major in engineering next year. I hear it's hard as hell.

Take my advice: if you haven't taken any AP classes before and you aren't taking any now, DON'T sign up for more than two or three. It's just too much for most people to be able to make that transition. It takes a good amount of focus and motivation to get through those classes. So with that being said, I wish you luck

From my experiences, math and science courses are worth taking AP for, but I found social and English AP to just be a load of extra work.
