Hey guys, I recently purchased a new computer, and am looking for some cool software to put on it. Any recommendations?
I already have:

  • One Care
  • Photoshop
  • Dreamweaver
  • Flash
  • Fireworks
  • Microsoft Office 2007
  • TeamViewer
  • Free Studio Manager
  • FrostWire
  • iTunes
  • YIM
  • MSN
  • AIM

Anything else worth getting? (I don't really care about prices...)

I don't have anything else to recommend, but I think Frostwire/Limewire suck.

Limewire/Frostwire is a terrible way to acquire music and the like. I hear google desktop is good, but I havn't tried it yet.
So what, I'm a Star Wars geek?!?

Torrents are the easiest way to download music.

Google Desktop is actually kind of pointless. It's neat, but nothing anyone needs.

Oh, and MegaDownload.net is also a very good music source, but you didn't hear that from me.

My computer came with Google Desktop installed, and all it did was slow down my computer, use up memory, and show me things I can easily look up on the Internet or in my local newspaper.

These are the softwares that I install on every computer, I could make a giant list of everything I use, but that shouldn't be necessary.

Firefox
TrueCrypt
Pidgin
TweakUI
Power Menu
Sumatra PDF
Clamwin
Allsnap
Karen's Replicator
CCleaner
VLC

Oh, and do yourself a favor and un-install:

One Care
Free Studio Manager
FrostWire
iTunes
YIM
MSN
AIM

You have officially failed at the internet. Using IE is the worst thing you could ever do. Ever.

And I agree with everything Shmity said. I'll look into some of that software you listed.

Well, Pidgin lets you IM everyone from all of your YIM, AIM, MSN, GoogleTalk, etc accounts all from one place. No more need for multiple IM software, and Frostwire is just like Limewire - it sucks.
